About Nona Faye
No one should quietly disappear when a community has the power to care.
Nona Faye is an Orange County nonprofit that helps older adults and the people concerned about them find a caring next step. Sometimes that means companionship or practical help. Sometimes it means connecting a family with a church, nonprofit, professional, or trusted local resource. Whatever the path, we believe people deserve more than a phone number and a goodbye.

Why the Name Nona FayE

Nona Faye carries the name of our founder’s mother, Faye, and the spirit of the life she and her
husband, Ray, built together. Their home was full of family, faith, welcome, generosity, and
responsibility for one another.

When Alzheimer’s changed Faye’s life, Ray devoted himself to keeping her at home. He did not do it
alone. Faye’s best friend and daughter, Shellie, was the essential second-in-command - present,
dependable, and deeply involved in her care. Their story showed what is possible when love is
backed by people who keep showing up.

How the Idea Became a Mission
After Ray died, a conversation between Scott and Jodi crystallized a difficult truth: the extraordinary
circle that surrounded Faye and Ray is rare. Many older adults are loved, but their families are
stretched thin. Others have no one nearby at all. Nona Faye was created to help rebuild pieces of
that circle - freely, personally, and with follow-through.

What We Do
Nona Faye listens, helps determine the next step, and brings together caring volunteers, families,
churches, nonprofits, professionals, and community partners. Support may include friendly visits,
check-ins, transportation or errands when appropriate, light household or technology help,
organization and paperwork, community connection, and trusted referrals.

Our Promise
We cannot promise that every need can be met. We can promise to listen carefully, be honest about
what is possible, and work to keep a Neighbor from being lost in the process.

Boundaries
Nona Faye is not an emergency service and does not provide medical care, personal care,
medication assistance, transfers, or licensed home care. When licensed, clinical, or urgent support is
needed, we help connect people with the appropriate provider or public resource.
